You can make a donation to the Red Cross directly from the iTunes Store using the iTunes software on your Mac or PC.
Recent events in the Philippines have resulted in thousands of deaths, and utter devastation related to millions of innocent lives. Through the iTunes Store, Apple has developed an easy way for us to all donate money to the Red Cross.
From any web browser, please click here, or from the iTunes software running on your Mac or PC, click on the iTunes Store option, and then click on the Red Cross banner. Red Cross donation functionality has also just been added to the App Store app for iOS mobile devices. To use it, simply launch the App Store app on your iPhone or iPad, and then click on the Red Cross banner.
Click on the Donate button that corresponds to how much you’d like to donate.
To make a donation from the iTunes software or App Store app, simply click on the Donate button that’s associated with the amount you want to donate directly to the Red Cross Philippine Typhoon Relief Efforts. You’ll be asked to confirm your donation.
The donated funds will be automatically taken from the credit or debit card you have linked to your Apple ID account. Making a donation using this method takes less than one minute, and your assistance is desperately needed immediately, so please be generous! (The donation process via the iTunes Store is very much like purchasing an app or music from the iTunes Store. There’s no need to manually enter your credit card information or contact details.)
